Mandrel bending, on the other hand, is a method of manufacturing pipes that produces a smoother product with virtually no creases or kinks. As the pipe is being swept through backing shoes and dies, a mandrel is placed within the pipe to support its inner walls. This allows the pipe to be free from any profile or diameter changes.
